Hustle and Bustle of a different kind is occurring here in Pendaries! No snow or wreaths or shopping, but hustle and bustle none the less. Families are arriving all over the community and in the valley. The lodge is busy, the RV resort is busy, the Golf course looks great and tee times are still available! Our interns are working extra time to present the best food and service they can for our guest and residents. The Art Show is opening Friday evening with a cocktail reception party and all of the artists are setting up for the show.
We have the “Impalas” playing at the Clubhouse Saturday, A fourth of July Picnic at the Community Center with old fashioned kids games like sack races and water pie eating contests.
Next weekend, beginning Thursday the 6th of July, we are hosting the First Annual ‘Festival of Creative Ideas’. There will be a free writing clinic held during the day and music, poetry and fellowship in the evening. See our July Mill for more details.
The trout are flourishing in our pond and many fisher people have had great success in catching some of them!! Eating them too. Please visit the lodge or RV Park to purchase permits for our pond.
Our students are really doing a fantastic job this season in the first year of our new ‘Associa Teaching Resort Initiative’. Everything is going wonderfully. We have students from Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. The Santa Fe Community College’s Chef Dakan has been heading up the back of the house and Linda Apadaca has been working with our servers and bartenders. We are receiving wonderful and encouraging comments on the program and hope to work with something similar in the future.
